Extract layout tables into structured XLSX sheets
Our online extractor reads raw coordinate structures within your PDF documents to map cells into rows and columns instantly:
Spatial Layout Mapping
Uses PDF.js to analyze page vectors, sorting string tokens horizontally by x-axis values and vertically by y-axis columns to map tables properly.
Absolute Privacy Guarantee
Files are read and compiled directly inside your browser cache. The data never leaves your computer, making it 100% safe for confidential records.
XLSX Formatting Compliant
Generates native Excel structures compatible with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc, and Apple Numbers.
Frequently Asked Questions
Our tool inspects the bounding boxes and text coordinates of all printed words inside the PDF. Text characters that share a similar vertical alignment (Y-coordinate) are grouped into a spreadsheet row, and horizontal spaces (X-coordinates) dictate the columns.
No. Scanned PDFs are images and do not contain text vector elements. To convert scanned PDFs, an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) engine is required, whereas our client-side converter processes natively exported digital vector PDFs.
PDF layouts are designed for visual printing, not data extraction. If cells span across multiple rows or have irregular spacing, the coordinate algorithm may parse them into adjacent blank cells. You can toggle between "Coordinate" and "Raw text" methods in settings for better mapping.
Because the conversion runs in browser memory, there are no strict remote bandwidth limits. We recommend files under 50MB and 200 pages to ensure smooth browser tab performance.
