Planning a party menu can be challenging and time-consuming if kids are part of your guest list.  Adding something yummy and exciting that kids love and enjoy eating can take some thoughtful planning.  The most in-demand dishes at a party are always desserts, especially for children of all ages.  Some kids may start their meal by picking up a dessert too.  So, finalizing the dessert menu for a party can be tricky.  No worries, here we are to help you with some simple but all-time-hit dessert ideas with recipes.

  • Besan ke Ladoo

Besan ke ladoo – the name itself takes you back down memory lane when you were a kid, and your mother used to prepare them, especially during winters.  And not to forget, kids of all ages still love this ladoo variety wholeheartedly.  The richness of ghee and cooking besan in slow flame mixing throughout gives out an aroma that pulls you towards it.  So, let us start learning how to prepare the besan ladoo recipe

Ingredients:

  • Almonds (chopped) – 25
  • Cashew Nuts (chopped) – 20
  • Besan (coarsely grind) – 500 grams or ½ kilo
  • Refined oil – 100 ml or ⅔ cup
  • Nestlé MILKMAID – ½ tin
  • Nestlé Everyday Shahi Ghee – 200 grams

Process:

Step 1: Turn on the flame and place a wok or kadhai on it.  Take a heavy kadhai, whose bottom is heavy, or it will burn the entire mixture.  Now, add Nestlé Everyday Shahi Ghee and oil to the wok.  Let it heathen up.  Now add besan to it.  Stir the besan to let it evenly mix with ghee-oil.  Keep stirring and let it cook for 10 to 12 minutes on a medium flame.  Keep a check on the mixture, as it burns very easily.

Step 2: Now, add finely chopped cashew nuts and kaju to the besan mixture and mix it properly.  Let the mixture cool down thereafter.

Step 3:

Now add Nestlé MILKMAID to the cooled mixture.  Mix it properly.  After Nestlé MILKMAID and the mixture are properly mixed, keep it idle for 10 to 15 minutes.

Step 4: Now, take a drop of ghee and rub it on both palms.  Take the mixture and start forming ladoos by rolling them gently.  Keep forming ladoos till the mixture is complete.

  • Cupcakes

The cuteness of cupcakes appeals to taste buds as well as the eyes.  If you have a party at home, you may involve your kids as well in the baking process.  Baking cupcakes is easier and more convenient as you may keep them ready a day before the party also.

Let’s see a quick and easy cupcake recipe that doesn’t require more than 30-35 min if you are using Nestlé MILKMAID.

Ingredients:

  • ½ tin Nestlé MILKMAID
  • 50 g (6 tbsp) Butter
  • 100g (1 cup) Maida
  • ½ tsp Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • ½ cup (75 ml) Aerated soda

For Frosting:

  •     3 tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  •     1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  •     1 cup Sugar
  •     4 tbsp Softened butter

Process:

Step 1: Sieve all dry ingredients together, including maida, baking powder and baking powder.  Preheat the oven at 180°C.  If you are using a microwave, convection mode must be used.

Step 2: Beat Nestlé MILKMAID and soften butter together and then add the vanilla extract.

Step 3: Mix the sieved dry ingredients and aerated soda with the batter till both ingredients are completely used.

Step 4: Ensure there are no lumps in the mixture while mixing it.  Pour the mixture into the cupcake moulds till ¾ full.  Bake for 20 min in the preheated oven.  Insert a toothpick to check if they are baked sufficiently; if the toothpick comes out clean, your cupcakes are ready.

Step 4: Next step is frosting, for which you blend cocoa powder, vanilla essence, powdered sugar and butter till the mixture becomes light and evenly consistent.  Transfer it to a piping bag and decorate the cupcakes.  Bring in your creativity, or you may decorate them as per the party’s theme.

We hope you add these two easy and quick recipes to your party menu and let us know how the kids enjoyed them.
